Artist: Farewell to Fashion
Title: You Couldn’t Possibly
Catalog #: FDR 004
Release Date: August 6, 2002
Matthew’s Notes: This was not supposed to be released on FDR. This album was being recorded for No Compromise Records who I believe had released some early Zao and Brandtson albums. I don’t really remember what happened at the label, but I know they didn’t have the money to properly releases this album.
I don’t really remember much about how the deal went, but I picked up the tab and the band finished their recording somewhere in Cleveland, OH. I don’t think No Compromise was too happy that I purchased the recording from the studio, but my main concern was that FTF got their CD out so they could sell them and eat.
I was super happy with the songs on the release and the first pressing of 1100 sold out in 4 months. It was pressed again and sold out in another 6 months. It is now on its third and final pressing. Each version of this CD has different artwork. Shortly after the album was released, the singer Ryan Dunson, left the band to start Rookie of the Year.
This is one of my favorite releases and what I would call a staple if I had a definitive FDR collection. The band has recently got back together and is playing a lot of shows.
